Dark ruby color. Medium-body red wine that will remind you of sour cherries, raspberries and chocolate notes. It’s fresh and lively.

Spontaneous fermentation in steel tank for 25 days of maceration on skin. This rich red wine is aging 12 months in acacia barrels tanks. No yeast or sulfites added, unfiltered. Merlot and Cabernet sauvignon blend medium body red wine.

• Vineyards are 16 to 25 years old, growing on shist, clay and sandstone
• Hand-picked in the end of September
• 2 days of maceration with spontaneous fermentation

Merlot Selection 2018

Alen says:

“This wine sends me around the world, to Italy and France, I stop over in South Africa and maybe quickly in Argentina - but all of this without leaving Slovenian soil and identity.”

The facts

Spectacular red fruits, soft tannins and smoothness. It has intense earthy notes followed by spices. 

The Merlot vineyards are between 8, 16, 21 and 50 years old and grow on Marl and Clay, the grapes are hand-harvested in late October. Skin contact for 18 days, aged in Slovenian oak barrels for 24 months.
