Mario Rosé Sparkling Wine
Very dry sparkling wine, the taste of peeled apples and delicate acids predominate in the mouth, followed by a long aftertaste.
The sparkling wine is extremely fresh. The bubbles are medium active. Pronounced medium bouquet is mainly reminiscent of flowers, strawberries, raw apples.Pinot noir (70%), Rumeni plavec (15%), Chardonnay (15%)
Directly pressed grapes. Spontaneous fermentation without the addition of yeast. Maturation and mixing on fine lees. No filtration.
Muscat Ottonel 2018
“This wine has so much vibe, like listening to a jazz vinyl. This wine, just like music, can take you far away.”
When we think about perfection, this is close to it. Very long finish of dry orange peel notes with some clementine citrus nose.
Handpicked grapes ferment in amphorae (Dolium) for up to one year; around the first days of the new harvest, Zorjan transfers the wine into barrels, where the wine gets more time to rest and is clarified by the natural force of gravity.
“A totally different Sauvignon that has the magic in its elegant notes and body. Someone had the guts to do that and made it pretty good. Try it !”
The smell is distinctly mineral, floral and less fruity (you will find quince and pears, though), very velvety, and alcohol does not stand out although it is pretty high.
The grapes were harvested late, perfectly mature and with little botrytis.
Macerated for 2 days, spontaneous fermentation, wine matured on fine lees in the tank until bottling (9 months).
