Alen says:
"Earthiness and fruity funky notes. One of my favorites. Easy to drink and perfect for those who like light red wines."
The facts:
Blaufränkisch, also if the name might tell you differently, is an indigenous Slovenian grape with roots in the eastern part of Slovenia, Štajerska. Cherries and Blackberries are balanced by a beautiful earthiness. It’s Blaufränkisch on the Organic Anarchy level, if you enjoy the whites you shouldn't miss the red.
Aci Urbajs is using his old traditional methods. He is destemming the grapes, which ferment in open vats for 2 weeks with gentle extraction. The wine ages in old Slovenian oak barrels for 12 months before bottling without fining, filtration or any addition of SO2.
